What a terrible loss. He will be greatly missed and his absence felt by his patients and friends. My thoughts and prayers are with his family. May all find comfort in the good memories they made with him as he was a light to many.

Words are inadequate to express the feelings of sadness for all of your family, Cristen , Mackson, Teegan. and us. His death was untimely as Derek was evolving and growing in to a man to be admired for his role as a father and partner to the mother of his children. Life can be unkind and unfair as in the case of your son Derek. Our wish is that you can work through this tragedy and to treasure the joy he gave you in life.
