It is with heavy hearts that the family of Diane June (Clinger) Chew announces her sudden passing, at home, on August 6, 2018, at the age of 78 years. Diane was raised in Aston, PA and was a 1958 graduate of Eddystone High School. She spent the last 7 years living in Rehoboth Beach, DE. Diane worked in the medical field for many years and was a member of Mensa International.
Diane was an avid and skilled gardener who created many beautiful gardens in her lifetime, a gift she joyfully shared with family and friends. She was truly as beautiful as the flowers she grew. Diane had a life-long love of literature and was never without a good book and a recommendation for several. She had a love of animals and was an active member of Catnippers, an organization in her community that cared for and neutered abandoned cats. Diane also supported the 4Ocean Foundation, a global organization working to remove trash from the ocean and coastlines.
Diane will be lovingly remembered, and deeply missed by her children Catharine (Bill) Black, Caroline Chew, and Ted Chew. Diane was a devoted Grandmother to Taylor, Will, Connor, and Chris who will always feel her love, and pride in them. Diane will be dearly remembered and missed by her brother William (Sofia) Clinger, III; sister Kathryn (Reynold) Augustine, nephews William, Michael, Gregory, and nieces Heather, Diane, and Holly.
Diane was preceded in death by her father William H. Clinger, Jr., her mother Lila F. Clinger, and her former husband, Clarence E. Chew. She was a generous and fun-loving lady whose spirit will forever remain in the lives of all who knew her. She was loved by many.

Diane was a dear friend to many and will truly be missed. Her family was everything to her and she was so proud of her children and grandchildren. I only knew Diane for three years. She was my best friend Linda’s and my neighbor. When we moved in she was there to help in anyway she could. We had many good times together. She was one of the most generous people I have known and did much for many. She was indeed a gardener but loved and carried for many animals as well. I will miss her alot.
