Maureen Anne Dragoni passed away on February 8, 2018, after a sudden illness. She was surrounded by her loving family. Maureen was the third child of Dorothy & James Dragoni. She was a lifelong resident of Brookhaven, PA. She graduated from Sun Valley High School in 1975 and started her career with a degree in business. Maureen discovered her passion, Nursing during the 1990’s. She obtained her Master’s degree in Nursing Education from Neumann University in 2010. Maureen was a respected bedside nurse at Crozer Chester Medical Center and a Nurse Educator at Delaware County Community College. She was fond of her nursing students and derived great satisfaction from her role as a teacher.  Maureen loved ballroom dancing and was well liked among the local dance community. Maureen loved Cape May, NJ, where she owned a second home. She often referred to Cape May as her “happy place.”  Maureen was well traveled both within the USA and abroad. Her favorite travel companions were her sister, Dorothy and her dear friend, Joseph Finio. Perhaps, Maureen’s greatest accomplishment was her role of being a daughter. She was a beacon of strength for her parents. Her love and dedication was unwavering during the final five years of her mother’s dementia. Maureen has been a rock of support for her father since her mother’s death on November 9, 2017.

I'm saddened to hear of Maureen's passing. She left us way to soon. She was always larger than life, dancing in fun costumes and performing at senior centers and hospitals. We first met through Starliters Dance, when Brian and his performers did a show at Cokesbury Village. Maureen smiled and laughed with joy throughout the whole skit, as well as much of her life. She was, is and will always be our Glamour Girl! Sending warm thoughts and prayers of comfort to her family, her darling Joe and her Cupid. Dance with the angels, Maureen. Rest in Peace.

Maureen was my clinical instructor in my first year at DCCC. I am thankful for everything that she taught me, for sharing the passion she had for her career, her students, life and travel, and especially her family, Joe, and her dear puppy Cupid. She will be missed tremendously.
