Samuel V. Balestrieri, 87, passed away June 1, 2018 at his home in Millsboro, Delaware.  Sam was born and raised in Chester, PA. He was the owner of Marie’s Market, and employed by Wheaton Industries. Sam was a member of the Sons of Italy and the Chester Jaycees. He also ran the Chester Centennial Celebration. Sam enjoyed watching the stock market, gardening, and spending time with his family.

Sam was the son of the late Leonardo and Maria Balestrieri, father-in-law to the late John Coleman, and brother-in-law to the late Anthony Mattera.

SURVIVORS: His wife: Marie J. Balestrieri (nee Zona); children: Joanne (Bob Boone) Balestrieri, Lisa Coleman, and Len (Tricia) Balestrieri; sister: Anne Mattera; grandchildren: John Colman, Jonathan Coleman, Emily Balestrieri, and Sam Balestrieri; great grandchild: Kalai Coleman; and goddaughters: Janice Ford and Phyllis McCarthy.

VISITATION: Thursday from 9:30-10:15 am at St. Joseph Church, 3255 Concord Road, Aston, PA 19014. MASS: Thursday at 10:30 am at St. Joseph Church. BURIAL: Private.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Greater Philadelphia Chapter of UNICO at Greater Philadelphia Chapter of Unico, 915 S. Blackhorse Pike, Blackwood, NJ 08012.
