Regina Czarnota Obituary

With tears of sadness the family of Regina (Jeannie) Czarnota announces her passing on Sunday March 3, 2024, just a few weeks shy of her 96th birthday. Jeannie passed away surrounded by her family and caregivers after a long struggle with dementia.

Jeannie was born, raised, educated, and married in Chester, Pa., where she resided until her move over 25 years ago to Lutheran Knolls. She was employed by A.H. Wirz until her 1st daughter was born and took on the role of housewife taking care of her husband and daughters, a role she cherished.

She was preceded in death by her Husband Eugene (Gene) who passed in 1980, Daughter, Patricia Clements who passed February 19, 2024, and her parents, Edwin and Laura (Opalczynski) Rumford.

She is survived by her daughters, Diane Volturo (Mike), Gina Kozlowski, Son-in-law, Bob Clements, Brother Edmund Rumford ( Jeannette), her Grandchildren, Michael Volturo Jr (Denise), Bill Webb (Joan), Deana Sigston (Shaine), Lori Clements Bunting, Sherry Flook (Nathaniel), Kimberly Maldou (Sam), Matt Kozlowski (Samantha) and her 16 Great Grandchildren. Sisters in law Janet Czarnota and Sr. Patricia Ann Czarnota of the Bernadine Franciscan Order, many nieces and nephews.

Jeannie was a beloved Wife, Mother, Mother-in-law, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Sister, Sister-in-law and friend. Spending time with her family and friends was always a highlight for her. She sat in the cold watching her Great Grandsons baseball games or her Great Granddaughters basketball games. She wasn't sports minded, but that didn't matter, what mattered was enjoying her Great Grandchildren. She made the best homemade bread every holiday. We have our Grandmother Czarnota to thank for sharing her time and recipe with her.

She was a long-time member of St. Hedwigs Catholic Church. More times than not she had a rosary in her hands and prayer cards at her fingertips. In later years when she couldn't attend mass in person she watched it on tv. She was happy when the priest from St John Fisher came to Lutheran Knolls monthly to say mass.

She loved playing bingo or cards with her friends at Lutheran Knolls. Her tv was on 24/7 watching games shows or Walker Texas Ranger. Her favorite saying was, "It's always something" followed by a shake of her head.

The family would like to thank her caregivers, Tanya, Trina, Kayla, Shaquinne and Stephanie for the loving care they gave her and to Mindy and the nurses at Main Line Health Hospice for their care and guidance during her final days.
